The prewar years through to the 1960s marked the heyday of the British seaside holiday, with Punch and Judy shows, I-speak-your-weight machines and donkey rides all to the fore. The photographs in this book recall those sunny days at the beach, whether you were building a massive sandcastle, competing in a 'knobbly knees' contest or just eating some fish and chips at the end of the pier.
